The Delmar Farmers Market will be opening for its third season on Saturday June 4.
The market is held at the Bethlehem Central Middle School and runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday. The market will feature over 50 vendors with a diverse array of products, from fruits, vegetables and meats to baked goods, cheeses, crafts and much more.
New for this year is a food court area of picnic tables that patrons will be able to use to enjoy snacks and live music. The season opener will also feature llamas from Wunsapana Farms in Altamont, face painting and plenty of hot food and beverages.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own bags and mugs.
All of the vendors at the farmers market come from within 35 miles of Delmar, making the market a truly local experience. Since opening in 2009, the market has increased in popularity, with some Saturdays last season drawing as many as 1,500 shoppers. Organizers estimate the market has kept almost $500,000 in the local economy and evened helped new businesses prosper.
When the weather gets cold, the market will move indoors for November and December.
