A countywide Stop-DWI sweep this weekend ended with nine people charged with driving under the influence.
Police agencies in Albany County made seven DWI arrests, one DWAI arrest and one DWAI-Drugs arrest from Friday evening to early on Sunday. Two were charged with aggravated DWI for allegedly driving with a BAC over 0.18 percent.
Altogether, police made 899 traffic stops and charged 18 people with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. Police found 97 designated drivers.
This weekend’s patrol was the 88th countywide DWI Blanket Patrol and 11 municipal police departments participated.`
