Denise Romeo is switching jobs, but not going far.
After eight years as vice president of membership development at the Chamber of Southern Saratoga, Romeo is leaving that post and taking a position as vice president of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce.
I am excited about this new opportunity that will allow me to continue working within the county and the business community that I love so dearly, said Romeo.
Romeo’s last day at the Chamber of Southern Saratoga County will be April 22.
`I just learned so much in every aspect. I’m going to take with me the memories of some great friends and the difference I hope I’ve made,` said Romeo.
As vice president of the Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce, her duties will include working on tourism, some membership and an energy program.
`It will be a pretty diverse array of issues that I’ll be working on,` said Romeo. `The energy program is a program that has been designed by a company called Energy Next where they can offer to the members of the chamber a potential discount for their energy needs.`
Romeo said during her time at the Chamber of Southern Saratoga, she built membership and worked on establishing new programming like the leadership circle and was also instrumental in putting together the executive institute program.
`I’m looking forward to the new opportunities I have and the new people I’ll meet. I’m especially excited to work on tourism issues,` said Romeo.
President and CEO of the Chamber of Southern Saratoga Peter Bardunias said the chamber is discussing how to go about filling the vacant position.
`We are evaluating our options as to the best way to replace Denise, given all her years of hard work and the significant impact she has had on this chamber,` said Bardunias.
Romeo said the Chamber of Southern Saratoga will fare just fine without her.
`I am confident that you will continue to enjoy the high quality of member service that you have come to expect from our chamber. I know that I leave you in the capable hands of my colleagues,` said Romeo.
