After being arrested on DWI charges in October, Timothy Reichel was handed down a few more charges on Dec. 7, the Colonie Police Department said.
Reichel, 31, has been charged with an aggravated vehicular manslaughter, felony DWI, driving with a blood alcohol content greater than .08 percent, reckless driving, speed not reasonable and other vehicle and traffic violations.
A car crash on Oct. 29, on Lishakill Road involving Reichel, claimed the life of Crystal Vanepps, 21, after she was thrown from the car and suffered major internal injuries, according to police. The report stated that Reichel lost control of his 2005 Mitsubishi and went off the road. The car struck several objects before stopping on the lawn of a home.
Vanepps died at Albany Medical Center.
Reichel was thrown from the car, according to police, and has been at Albany Med since the accident with internal injuries, according to police.
Reichel was arrested and charged with a DWI the evening of the crash and was remanded to the custody of the Albany County Sherriff’s Corrections Unit located at the hospital.
