A 69-year-old Saratoga Springs woman is missing, according to Saratoga Springs police and on Tuesday, Sept. 21, the department announced it would continue to search the wooded areas north of Embury Apartments as they follow up on leads that come in from the public. Lt. Greg Veitch said he expected to issue an update to the media around 3 or 4 p.m.
Eleanor B. Adams, known as Ellie, was reported missing from her apartment at the Embury Apartments located on Lawrence Street by family members on Thursday, Sept. 16.
According to information from the police, family members told police they’d last seen Adams on Sunday, Sept. 12, around 1 p.m. Adams is a white female about 5’4` tall, weighing about 110 pounds, with gray hair and hazel eyes. Adams is a chain smoker and may be wearing a jean jacket and sneakers.
Police say Adams has a daily routine where she walks to the Price Chopper on Railroad Place, by way of Clinton Street, around 6 to 7 a.m. Workers at the store know her and told police they haven’t seen her since last week. Police reported that they located her purse and identification at her apartment.
Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Adams and ask anyone who has seen her over the past week to contact them at 584-1800 or 584-TIPS (8477).
