Richard Munson and Tara Joyce won the men’s and women’s titles at last Saturday’s Brenda Deer Memorial 5-kilometer run at the Guilderland YMCA.
Munson, a 53-year-old runner from Prattsville, ran the course in a time of 18:23, 26 seconds ahead of runner-up David Wojcik of Troy. Brian Murphy of Albany was third with a time of 18:57.
Joyce, a 21-year-old Altamont resident, claimed the women’s division title with a time of 21:29. Bridget Chorbajia of Schenectady was second with a time of 22:14, and Theresa Smolen of Schenectady placed third with a time of 22:35.
