State Police in Saratoga responded to a one car crash on 1-87 south aorund 2:45 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 1, in the Town of Malta, that left the driver seriously injured.
The crash was located just one half mile south of exit 13, where the vehicle ran off the left shoulder, struck an earth embankment, continued into the median, overturning and striking a tree, according to police reports. The driver was ejected from the car, which came to rest on it’s roof.
The driver, Christopher Grennon, 43, of Troy, was transported to Albany Medical Center by ambulance and is listed in critical condition. The vehicle, a 2004 Chrysler sedan, was demolished and the weather and road conditions were clear and dry. The investigation is ongoing and the cause of the crash unknown at this time.
