Francis Del Gallo, town board supervisor, issued a water conservation advisory earlier today, July 8, for Rotterdam as a precautionary measure due to the recent heat wave.
Any unnecessary water usage must be postponed until further notice. The restriction is planned to be lifted as soon as possible and a spokeswoman for Del Gallo said it should be lifted early next week or sooner.
Update:
Today, July 13, Del Gallo lifted the water conservation advisory and asked residents within consolidated Water Districts No. 5 and No. 3 to return to standard sprinkling regulations.
Even addresses in these two districts can use lawn sprinklers on even days from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The same rules imply inversely to odd number addresses.
