An Albany County DWI blanket patrol over the holiday weekend resulted in 13 arrests for drunk driving.
Three of those arrests were for aggravated DWI (for having a BAC of 0.18 percent or higher) and one person was arrested in Watervliet under Leandra’s Law charges for allegedly driving drunk with two children under the age of four in the vehicle.
The average BAC for those arrested was 0.15 percent. The patrol involved 11 municipal police departments, the Albany County Sheriff’s Department and state police. 539 traffic stops were made during the course of the patrol.
Police also announced another STOP-DWI blanket patrol for Wednesday, July 7 at 6 p.m. until 5 a.m. Saturday, July 10.
Police will be focusing on those leaving happy hours and at Troy’s Rocking on the River and Albany’s Alive at Five events.`
