State police have arrested a state parole officer for allegedly raping a parolee under his supervision.
Police say Nicholas B. Kordas, 50, of Clifton Park, raped the 23-year-old woman while conducting a curfew check on her residence in the Town of Guilderland. The woman reported the rape at Albany Medical Center on the morning of Jan. 13 and an investigation involved the use of DNA evidence, according to police.
Police said their investigation did not reveal any other victims, and steps were taken to ensure the safety of other parolees supervised by Kordas.
Kordas was charged with rape in the first degree and posted bond in the amount on $75,000 in the Town of Guilderland Court. `
