Local officials–including Deputy Supervisor John Smolinsky, Councilman Kyle Kotary and County Legislator Richard Mendick–celebrated Earth Day today by getting a start on a project to revitalize the law in front of Town Hall.
Two trees have been lost to storm and disease, and Highway Department workers will spend Thursday putting in new plantings.
Smolinsky urged residents to make environmentally sound decisions in everyday life.
If we can appreciate and consider that most actions have implications beyond our own personal needs and comforts then our everyday actions and decisions might be better balanced, he said.
