The Colonie Police Traffic Safety Division is investigating a two-vehicle crash that resulted in the death of one of the drivers. At approximately 9:50 p.m. on Saturday, March 6, at the intersection of Oak Street and Washington Avenue, a 1992 Chevy Cavalier and a 2003 Ford Mustang collided. Both vehicles wound up in the yard of 20 Washington Ave. The Chevy actually struck the residence, according to police.
The Cavalier’s driver, Bryan Cross, 23 of Colonie suffered severe internal injuries. Cross had to be extricated from the vehicle by Fuller Road Fire Department and was transported to Albany Medical Center by Colonie EMS. He died at the hospital. Russell Frost, 24, also of Colonie, was the driver of the Ford. He was not injured in the crash. Frost was arrested by Colonie police for DWAI Drugs. An investigation continues.
The Town of Colonie Building Department inspected 20 Washington Ave. and found no serious structural damage.
