Colonie Police have arrested Brian T. Kelleher, 25, of Albany, in connection with the Wednesday, Sept. 16 robbery of the Walgreens pharmacy.
During the robbery, police said, Kelleher allegedly had a gun with him when demanding narcotics from the pharmacist at about 11:48 p.m. He was wearing a black, white and gray hooded sweatshirt and a black mask that covered his face, police said, as well as a black vest.
Police said Kelleher then removed a black handgun which he had carried into the store in a blue bag while demanding the narcotics. The pharmacist complied, police said, giving Kelleher a half-filled bottle of Xanax before he fled on foot.
Kelleher was also arrested after an investigation revealed his connection to another armed robbery of a Rite Aid pharmacy in Albany.
Kelleher was charged with felony robbery in the first degree, unlawfully fleeing a police officer and other traffic offenses. He was arraigned and sent to the Albany County Correctional Facility.
