Guilderland Paramedics and the Western Turnpike Ambulance transported a man who appeared at a victim impact panel with a 0.32 percent blood-alcohol content to St. Peter’s Hospital on Tuesday, July 28, according to officials.
The panel, which is mandated for certain alcohol related offenders, is run by the Albany County Stop-DWI program, and features speakers highlighting the dangers of excessive alcohol use. The panel was held at Guilderland Town Hall, where the man was denied admittance due to signs of inebriation.
Officials said with the high humidity and temperatures, combined with his BAC, he was at risk for cardiac arrest and liver failure, and as a result was transported to the hospital.
No arrest was made, and the man’s name is unavailable at this time. Officials said he was there as the result of a DWI he recently received.
