As Assemblyman Robert Reilly’s, D-Newtonville, term expires, he is asking voters in the 109th Assembly District to re-elect him to coninue serving in the New York State Assembly.
Reilly was first elected in 2005. He is running to serve his third term.
In his previous terms, he authored several bills that have become law, including one that authorized the Town of Clifton Park to issue tax rebates of $150 to every taxpayer in Clifton Park, and another that created a 1 percent base proportion tax cap for the Town of Colonie in 2007.
This past year, Reilly has labeled school tax relief one of his priorities.
The biggest thing for me that we’re working on is school tax relief. That has implications for everybody across the state, he said.
His second biggest priority, he said, was campaign finance reform.
In previous terms, Reilly has also pledged to donate his entire Assembly salary to local charities.
The 109th Assembly District is home to over 132,000 people. It encompasses part of Albany County and southern Saratoga County.
