A new sign, which is to be officially unveiled Thursday, May 15, explains some of the history of the area along the Mohawk-Hudson Bikeway trail.
The sign is the result of a collaborative effort between local officials, New York State Canal Corporation and the Mohawk River Community Partners.
The sign, depicting images of local wildlife (including the goldfinch, downy woodpecker, muskrat, and Canada goose)and a historical overview of the area, is being placed near the path to help bring attention [to the tralway], said Jeff Swan, vice president of the Mohawk River Community Partners.
