Police are still investigating an incident on Tuesday night in which a Guilderland man was bound with duct taped and robbed at his home.
According to police, the homeowner of 122 Spyglass Court was confronted by two black males when he stepped out to smoke a cigarette at approximately 10:15 p.m.
The assailants then dragged him inside his home despite resistance. Once inside, the homeowner was bound by duct tape, and one of the robbers displayed a handgun, said police.
The men left the scene with various items from the home, including the homeowner’s ATM card and 2004 Black BMW X3.
According to Guilderland police lieutenant Curtis Cox, the men used the ATM card to withdraw somewhere between $500 and $1,000.
Originally, police believed the victim was bound for 15 minutes, but Cox said now there is reason to believe it may have been longer. He sustained minor lacerations and abrasions in the attack, said Cox, and was treated at the scene.
Shortly afterwards, the vehicle was located in the city of Albany at the Hannaford Plaza at Central Avenue and Colvin Avenue.
As of this time, the police have no suspects and are still processing the car and the scene for evidence. A picture taken during the ATM withdrawal clearly shows the vehicle, though police aren’t sure whether the individual driving was one of the men involved in the attack or a third individual.
