A respected and well-liked Albany County legislator remains in critical condition after colliding with another vehicle while driving on the wrong side of alternate Route 7 Monday, Jan. 29.
State Police are still looking into why the first-term Republican legislator Ann Comella, 54, of Loudonville drove 1.4 miles east in the westbound lane of the busy thoroughfare.
Comella is undergoing treatment at Albany Medical Center Hospital for what emergency responders said was a serious head injury.
