Dear Editor,
The following is an open letter to four of the rock world’s most well known and accomplished musicians. They are all current or prior members of classic rock groups going back to the 60s. Their contribution to the world of rock music is pure gold and should hold up for the ages. Justin Hayward of The Moody Blues, Pete Townsend of The Who, Charlie Watts of The Rolling Stones and last, but not least, Paul McCartney of The Beatles and his solo career make up this very elite group of artists. The four of them have certainly left a lasting imprint and fossil for the world of rock music. Who could argue that point? No pun is intended. The song writing and the sound connected to this foursome is simply no short of spectacular. It is my opinion that if you had to make up a super group, this would be it. Their combined musical resume is rock solid. I know that the historical landscape of rock has brought us several great artists over the decades, but I think the blend and chemistry of these four would be hard to surpass. It would be very interesting to hear their sound. So I am extending an open invitation and request to these four legendary artists to make it happen. These guys are all seventy something and united have more than two-hundred years of professional experience. This would be an incredible creative alliance. There would be a balance and merger of maturity and musicianship that could be something really special. This union could click! The album in itself could be great, but what would make it glorious would be to take all the proceeds from it and set up a foundation for the rights and welfare of animals worldwide. How cool would that be? The four of them are all natives of England. Britain has been a long time advocate for animal rights. This would give them a golden opportunity to give back. The foundation could be for the ages and probably the album would stand the test of time. I am not talking about a quick benefit donation from the album, but instead setting up a long term foundation. Our Almighty Father created these animals and it is our responsibility to treat them humanely and with kindness. We need to be good stewards of the planet and all of its creatures around the globe. We owe it to ourselves, our children, the animals and most of all, our awesome Father and creator. So Justin, Pete, Charlie and Paul, please don’t wait, just create. Thank you for considering this wholehearted offer.
