Voorheesville Public Library: Geology Hike

Spotlight Newsroom by Spotlight Newsroom
May 19, 2022
in Blogs, Community Blogs, Guilderland, Towns
Reading Time: 2 mins read

We will be meeting at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 21, at the Paint Mine parking lot, across the street from the Thacher Visitor Center.

Join us as we learn about the caves, rock formations, and the geologic history of the park. This program is subject to weather cancellation, so registration is required.

Teen Time

Students in grade 6 and up, please register to come to the library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, May 27 to unwind with some friends.

Play group games or board games. Play Switch games on the big screen. Magic the Gathering cards are available and we’ll help you build a winning deck. The library is always a great place to kick back and unwind.

Library Tots

Children ages up to 30 months, with a caregiver, are invited to join us as Library Tots begins for the summer.

We will be getting together inside the library for a fun program, featuring songs, fingerplays, body movement, felt board stories, and books!

Join Miss Lisa Thursday mornings at 10 a.m., beginning on June 2. No registration is needed.

Free Concert

Join us for a free concert in the library community room, at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, June 2. The Wright-Quigley Duo will perform works for flute and guitar written by composers from the 19th century up to the present day, including works by Giuliani, Ibert, Pujol, and more. This performance is sponsored by the Start UP New York grant, administered by the Arts Center of the Capital Region and the Jim Clark Community Performance Fund and the Albany Musicians Association, Local 14, AFM. No registration needed.

— Lynn Kohler

Registering for programs helps us to determine supply needs. Unless otherwise indicated, registration is requested for all programs. You can register in person, by phone (518-765-2791) or using our online calendar at http://voorheesvillelibrary.org/calendar.asp. You do NOT need to be a resident of Voorheesville to attend a program.
