ALBANY — The Albany County District Attorney’s office announced that Jessica Nowiak, 26, of Rotterdam, and Brittany DeCarlo, 25, of Colonie, each pleaded guilty to one count of attempted robbery in the second degree — a Class D violent felony — in Albany County Supreme Court Wednesday, July 13.
On Dec. 29, 2015, Nowiak and DeCarlo lured an individual into an apartment complex in the area of Johnson Road in Colonie with the intent of robbing that person. Colonie Police officers arrested Nowiak and DeCarlo following a report filed by the victim. Following their arrest, a Colonie Police investigation found that Nowiak and DeCarlo had targeted several more people at apartment complexes and hotels in Albany County.
Nowiak and DeCarlo each face three years in state prison, to be followed by three years of post release supervision, when they are sentenced on Sept. 9.
