LATHAM — On the night Shaker honored the top 50 players in the boys lacrosse program’s 35-year history, the current squad eased past Troy 14-1 in a Suburban Council contest Thursday, May 5.
The Blue Bison scored the first six goals of the game and built an 11-1 halftime lead before easing up in the second half.
Jared Hoff led Shaker with a five-goal evening. Michael Stiso contributed two goals and three assists, while Mark Calicchia, Jack Cheney and Luke Julien all added a pair of goals.

Hoff and Stiso each recorded hat tricks for Shaker, and goaltender Andrew Leahey stopped 13 shots. Owen Putnam paced Shen with a pair of goals.
Girls lacrosse
Six players had multi-goal performances for the Shaker girls lacrosse team in a 17-1 Suburban Council victory over Schenectady Friday, May 6.
Maeve Lennon led the attack with a hat trick, while Lila Allison, Kailey Dodd, Shannon Fitzpatrick, Katie Julien and Kayleigh Papa all tallied twice.
Shaker needed a strong effort at both ends of the field to defeat Shenendehowa 12-10 Tuesday, May 3. Tied at halftime, the Blue Bison outscored the Plainsmen 6-4 in the second half to prevail.
Lennon tallied four times, and Dodd notched a hat trick for Shaker. Goaltender Emily Polsinello had seven saves.
Lauren Gray and Kendra Harbinger each had three goals for Shen.
