Larceny, then warrant, then warrant again
DELMAR – A 19-year-old Albany woman was arrested by Bethlehem police for the second time on Tuesday, June 20 after she was detained by the Albany city police.
According to reports, Desiree Fowler and Myunique McQueen, also of Albany, were arrested in August at the Price Chopper in Slingerlands and charged with petit larceny and conspiracy after they allegedly filled bags with merchandise and left the store.
At that time, Fowler was released on an appearance ticket, but McQueen was detained and transported to Glenville for an open warrant there.
Fowler was in custody for another incident and an open warrant from Bethlehem for not showing up for court for the August incident. She was arraigned by town judge Andrew Kirby and released under the supervision of probation, then transported to meet New Hartford police for an open warrant.
CVS larceny, then warrant, then warrant again
DELMAR – Bethlehem police responded to the Albany County jail on Friday, June 23 to take custody of William Johnson, 58, of Albany, for an open warrant in relation to a January incident on Delaware Avenue.
On January 22, Johnson and another man allegedly stole merchandise from CVS and were arrested by Bethlehem police on River Road later that night. At the time, they were charged with petit larceny and criminal impersonation. Johnson was released on an appearance ticket but used a false name.
A fingerprint check by the Department of Criminal Justice Services identified that it was Johnson and an arrest warrant application was made on January 29. He was arraigned by Bethlehem Town Judge Andrew Kirby and released on his own recognizance. Johnson is due back in court on July 18.
Johnson was then found to have an outstanding warrant from the City of Albany police and was transported to meet officers from that department.
Felony assault with a weapon
GLENMONT – Bethlehem police responded to a neighbor dispute on Friday, June 23 at approximately 10:13 a.m. When police arrived they found two men had been in an altercation leaving one with saliva in his eyes and the other with a two-inch laceration above his eye from being hit with a broomstick.
According to reports, a coworker stopped at Alfonso Ramos’ house to see how he was doing since he did not show up for work for a week. According to the man, Ramos became irate and pushed the man and then struck him in the head.
Ramos said the man spat in his face.
Both men were treated by Bethlehem EMS at the scene. The other man was advised to get stitches for his laceration.
Ramos, 48, of Glenmont, was charged with assault with intent to cause injury with a weapon, a felony, and criminal possession of a weapon.
He was arraigned by Bethlehem Town Judge Andrew Kirby and released under supervision. A stay away order was issued and Ramos also was ordered to surrender three hunting rifles for safekeeping.
He is due back in court on July 18.
Grand larceny at work
GUILDERLAND – On June 26, State Police of Latham arrested Nicole M. Lynch, 36, of Guilderland, NY, for Grand Larceny in the Third Degree and Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree.
On June 22, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Troopers received a complaint from a Colonie business reporting an employee had taken money belonging to the business without permission. The investigation determined Lynch began working for the company in a management role. Since May Lynch reportedly falsified business records on multiple occasions resulting in the theft of over $9,000.
Lynch was arrested and charged with grand larceny and falsifying business records, both felonies. She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Colonie Town Court on July 19.
Aggravated DWI on Route 85
NEW SCOTLAND – On June 18 at approximately 3:38 a.m. State Police of Guilderland responded to the area of Route 85 in New Scotland for the reports of an erratic vehicle.
Troopers located and stopped a vehicle matching the caller’s description on Caldwell Boulevard in Bethlehem.
The driver was identified as a 35-year-old Glenmont man. The man was transported to SP Guilderland for processing, where he provided a breath sample that returned a 0.22 percent BAC. He was arrested for aggravated DWI and other vehicle and traffic Law violations. The man was issued tickets returnable to the Bethlehem Town Court on July 18 and was released to a sober third party.
