BETHLEHEM—On Thursday, June 7, at 6:10 p.m. Bethlehem Police investigated a report of a person acting suspiciously in the area of Delaware and Elsmere avenues in Delmar. Upon arrival, police reportedly located a female seated in a car and observed evidence of crack cocaine usage in plain view in the vehicle. It was also determined that the operator of the vehicle, Danielle L. Lake, 37, of Richford, VT, was wanted by Albany Police on a bench warrant and she was taken into custody by Bethlehem Police.
A subsequent search warrant was executed at the residence of 269 Delaware Avenue in Delmar, during which police located and seized 5.7 pounds of marijuana, 228 Oxycodone pills, 11 individual decks of heroin, eight Methadone pills and three rocks of crack cocaine.
Also arrested in the residence was Alycia M. Rafuse, 24, of Delmar.
Both Lake and Rafuse were charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree; one felony count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree; one felony count of criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree; and one misdemeanor count each of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree and criminally using drug paraphernalia.
Both Lake and Rafuse were arraigned in the Town of Bethlehem Court by Judge Ryan Donovan. Rafuse was remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bail and Lake was remanded to the Albany County Jail in lieu of $20,000 bail. Both Lake and Rafuse are scheduled to appear in Bethlehem Court on Tuesday, June 12 for preliminary hearings.
