BCSD gardens to Garden Bistro 24: Local restaurant to feature fresh-grown fare from local schools

The garden at Bethlehem Middle School / BCSD

BETHLEHEM — During the month of October, kicked off by NYS Farm to You week, Garden Bistro 24 in Slingerlands will be featuring fresh-grown produce from Bethlehem Central School District. Every Tuesday throughout the month, the restaurant will offer a special prix fixe menu featuring produce grown by students in school gardens throughout the district.

A three-course meal chosen from a specially-crafted menu is $24 and part of the proceeds will be returned to the school gardens. Garden Bistro 24 is located at 5 Vista Blvd. in Slingerlands.

The first menu, which will be served on Tuesday, Oct. 2, will feature BCSD spinach, butternut squash, kale, carrots, potatoes and more. The full list of menu choices for that first dinner is below:

First Course

Local Salad | Roasted Butternut Squash & Carrots, Blueberries, Toasted Pumpkin Seeds, Baby Spinach, Maple Mustard Vinaigrette
