November Book Talks
We’ll be discussing these books in November: Fiction Book Discussion – “Fire Keeper’s Daughter” by Angelina Boulley, 6:45 p.m., Wed., Nov. 1 and/or 11:00 a.m., Wed., Nov. 15; Graphic Novel Book Discussion – “Audubon: On the Wings of the World” by Fabien Grolleau, 6:30 p.m., Wed. Nov. 8; Nonfiction Book Discussion – “The Daughters of Yalta” by Catherine Grace Katz, 6:30 p.m., Mon., Nov. 13. All discussions will be held in the library community room, unless otherwise stated. Please register online each month for any of the book discussions. Limited copies of some titles are available for $5, compliments of the Friends of the Library. Library copies will also be available for checkout and downloadable ebook and audiobook versions are on Overdrive.
A Slice of Murder
High school teens are invited to partake in A Slice Of Murder party, 11:30 –2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the library. We’ll be serving subs and cake while trying to solve this mystery. Students in grades 9-12 should register and pick up your character profile as soon as possible.
The Great Give Back
From Sunday, October 1 through Tuesday, October 31, the library is partnering with Karie Jean’s Closet to support the Capital City Rescue Mission. We are collecting personal care items as part of The Great Give Back. Some examples of needed items would be regular size and travel size shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products.
