Halloween Costume Swap
On October 1, the library began accepting donations of clean, gently worn Halloween costumes. Donations will be accepted until Saturday, Oct. 21, when, from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., we will host a costume swap. It will be first come, first served, no sizes or styles are guaranteed.
The Great Give Back
From Sunday, October 1 through Tuesday, October 31, the library will be partnering with Karie Jean’s Closet to support the Capital City Rescue Mission. We will be collecting personal care items as part of The Great Give Back. Some examples of needed items would be regular size and travel size shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, body wash, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, and feminine hygiene products.
Light Up the Rail Trail
Come wearing your brightest, most reflective, and light-up gear at 6:30 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, to be seen while strolling or rolling along the rail trail! The Light Up the Rail Trail event is organized by the Voorheesville Running and Cycling Club and is family friendly. The goal of the event is to promote pedestrian and cycling safety, especially at night, and to have FUN!. Decorate yourself and your walking stick, bike, scooter, stroller, or skateboard with lights, glow-in-the-dark accessories, and or battery operated lights. Be a part of a colorful parade! Skull Tees for Teens
Students in grades 6-12 are invited to join us at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28 to make a skull tee. You’ll choose a dark-colored T-shirt, decorate a fabric skull, then iron it on to celebrate Halloween or the Day of the Dead. Please register.
