Creativity Lab: Emojis!
Grades 7 and up are invited to join us at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 14 to prepare for World Emoji Day (coming up on 7/17). We'll machine sew an emoji zipper pouch, decorate cupcakes, and share other activities. Please register, so we know how many cupcakes we’ll need.
Stone Soup
with Tinkergarten
Children ages 2 through 8, w/caregiver, are invited Join local Tinkergarten leader, Mary Duryea, at 6:15 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, for a mixed age play session inspired by the classic tale, Stone Soup. Children will transform water, stones and other nature treasures into a marvelous pretend soup. As children create their own unique soups and then combine them together, we’ll celebrate how unique we each are, while reinforcing the power of community. Please register.
Voorheesville History Walk
Join local history guide Dennis Ulion at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 8 for a trip down memory lane.
Learn about how Voorheesville became what it is today. Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, as this walk is 2.2 miles and may take over 2 hours. Subject to rain cancellation. We will meet at St. Matthew’s overflow parking lot. Please register.
Summer Concerts
Bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and join us for free concerts on the library lawn this
summer.
“Big Frank and the Bargain Bingers” will be here on Thursday, July 13 covering classic
country, 60’s R&B, surf and rock music, as well as originals.
The “Great Mutations” will be performing on Thursday, July 27. They write and perform
melodic rock songs about love, work, and death.
“As Iz” is an Albany area based one-man band, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Join Iz on Thursday, August 17.
The “Kitty Rodeo” band rounds up roots rock, country and blues with an emphasis on the
female perspective. Join them on Thursday, August 24.
All concerts start at 6:30 p.m.,
and are family friendly.
Friendship Fun Storytime
Friends are special people! Join us at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 11 as we celebrate the joy of
friendship. Enjoy an interactive, theme-based, multi-age storytime with an emphasis on early
literacy that will include an art activity. Ages 2 -5 with caregiver. No registration needed.
Teen Cooking Class
Students in grades 7 – 12 are invited to register for this cooking program, We’ll cook up a
healthy dish to share for dinner with an instructor from the Honest Weight Food Co-op. Grades
7-12; please register.
