TROY — The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District is excited to announce The Mallett Brothers Band as the ninth and final performer for the annual Rockin’ on the River concert series in Riverfront Park. The series begins on Wednesday, June 6 and runs through August 8 with nine weeks of free family-friendly live music, along the sunset views of the Hudson River. The Mallett Brothers Band will perform on August 8, 2018, on a summer roster of talented musicians, both local and national, emerging and seasoned- all excited to give Troy concertgoers a great time! We welcome music fans to shop, dine and explore downtown Troy before and after the concerts. The concerts will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in Riverfront Park, located between historic downtown Troy and the scenic Hudson River.

Based in Maine, brothers Luke and Will founded The Mallett Brother Band in 2009. Raised in the same farmhouse that their father grew up in and despite sharing a bedroom for 18 years, they did not start making music together until their 20’s. Five independently released LPs later, with the sixth “Vive l’Acadie!” expected in June 2018, The Mallett Brothers Band is still going strong. Their style can be labeled as coming from “frontier mentality”- from Maine, no less but reminiscent of vast Americana landscapes. New sounds round out this album, with fiddle, dobro, mandolin, and telecasters. After playing as a guest musician on two songs during an event in Maine, Phish drummer Jon Fishman, came to love their songs and style and will join them on tour. No stranger to Upstate New York performances and just as eclectic, talented with mountain folk styles, The North and South Dakotas will be the opening act.

Follow the Rockin’ on The River Facebook page, The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District Facebook page and Instagram (@troybid) for the latest updates! The Downtown Troy Business Improvement District is excited to present many family-friendly activities throughout the year, especially with festival season upon us, Troy is the destination to be with outstanding music and outdoor fun. We invite the Capital Region and beyond to join us and Shop, Dine and Explore Troy!
