The Bethlehem girls cross country team needed a tiebreaker to win the John Converto Girls Varisty 2 division race at the E.J. Hermann Invitational Saturday, Sept. 27, in Utica.
Bethlehem and Niskayuna each finished with 75 points, but the Lady Eagles’ sixth runner — eighth grader Reghan Meek — finished ahead of the Silver Warriors’ No. 6 runner to give Bethlehem the team title.
Senior Keeley Hogan and seventh grader Rachel Hodge had top-10 finishes to lead the Lady Eagles. Hogan was eighth with a time of 21:04.0, and Hodge placed ninth with a time of 21:12.3. Junior Holly Machabee was 14th with a time of 21:37.3, while junior Ruby Pan (20th place, 21:56.1) and senior Abbi Wright (24th, 22:10.1) rounded out Bethlehem’s top five. Meek finished 30th with a time of 22:45.4.
Niskayuna freshman Abigail Spiers won the individual title with a time of 19:51.3.
