We’ve reached the point in the Suburban Council girls lacrosse season where the contenders have separated themselves from the rest of the league.
So far, Shaker has been the team to beat as it’s raced out to a 5-0 record entering Wednesday’s game against defending Section II Class A champion Guilderland. The Lady Dutch entered the contest with a 2-2 league record, but both losses were by one goal.
One of Guilderland’s two losses was against a resurgent Bethlehem team, which is looking to contend following an 8-9 2013 campaign. However, the Lady Eagles also have had two losses, including a 15-5 setback against Shenendehowa — another contender sitting with a pair of league losses. Niskayuna was the other team to beat Guilderland in the first two weeks of the season.
So, which team will win the Suburban Council title? Give us your votes in the box to the left of the screen. The poll will remain open until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
