Columbia’s Jahlil Nails fended off Guilderland’s Andrew Platek to earn your nod as the Suburban Council’s midseason MVP in boys basketball. Now, we want to know who your midseason MVP is for girls basketball. Here are your five choices:
Jenni Barra (Shaker) — The senior guard does more than score 13.6 points per game for the undefeated Lady Bison. She also handles the ball and sets up the offense.
Carly Boland (Shen) — The sophomore guard is leading the Suburban Council with a 19.6 points per game average in the follow-up to her strong freshman season.
Kelly Donnelly (Averill Park) — The senior guard has the Warriors in control of the Suburban Council South Division race, as she is averaging 15.1 points per game.
Jenna Giacone (Bethlehem) — The sophomore guard has stepped up while big sister, Gabby Giacone, is sidelined with an ankle injury. Jenna is averaging 12.5 points per game, including a recent 21-point performance against Shaker.
Nicole Riddick (Colonie) — The senior forward is averaging 16.4 points per game for the Lady Raiders.
As always, please make your selection in the box to the left side of the screen. The poll remains open until 11:59 p.m. Sunday.
