The Shaker baseball team scored four times in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out a 6-2 victory over Schenectady in the completion of a Section II Class AA quarterfinal game Monday.
After falling behind 2-0, the Blue Bison (15-6) scored individual runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie the score before pulling ahead in the sixth.
Sean Egan had two hits, while Steven Cox and Garrett Klahr each added RBI singles for Shaker in a game that was suspended by rain last Thursday and didn’t resume until Monday afternoon. Nick Patierne singled and doubled for Schenectady (12-8).
Shaker advances to Tuesday’s Class AA semifinal game against Guilderland, which upset top-seeded Columbia 9-6 in another quarterfinal game that began last Thursday and was completed Monday. Tuesday’s semifinal game is scheduled for 4 p.m. at Joseph Bruno Stadium in Troy.
