The Bethlehem softball team avenged last year’s Section II Class AA quarterfinal loss to Guilderland by defeating the Lady Dutch 4-1 to begin the 2013 Suburban Council season Friday.
The Lady Eagles scored three times in the top of the third inning, and pitcher Megan Sullivan tossed a complete game five-hitter to pick up the victory. Sullivan helped her own cause with an RBI double.
K.K. Palmerino drove in two runs with a triple, and Mikaylah Shade added solo home run for Bethlehem.
Abi Peck accounted for Guilderland’s lone run with a solo homer in the bottom of the sixth inning.
