The Shenendehowa girls basketball team gave new coach Joe Murphy his first victory with Tuesday’s 42-28 Suburban Council win against Saratoga Springs.
Ashley Acker scored 15 points to lead the Plainsmen in Murphy’s debut. Emily Petruccione had 10 points for the Blue Streaks (1-1).
In another Suburban Council North Division game, Shaker rolled past Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake 70-25. Madison Rowland had 17 points, Jenni Barra contributed 14 points and Merrick Rowland added 11 points for the Blue Bison (2-0).
Florie Comley’s 11 points paced BH-BL (0-2).
Boys swimming
Bethlehem eased past Guilderville 100-77 in Tuesday’s Suburban Council boys swim meet in Delmar.
Alex Taber led the Eagles with wins in the 200-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke. Kevin Flynn (200 individual medley), Gunnar Zemering (50 freestyle) and James Starr (diving) also earned individual wins.
Jeremy Collison (100-yard butterfly), Reid Zyniecki (100 freestyle), Christopher Zanotta (500 freestyle) and Samuel DeSantis (100 breaststroke) had victories for Guilderville.
Schenectady defeated Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 94-69 in an Aqua League meet Tuesday. Leyton Spencer and Sam Detri each had two wins for RCS,
