Bethlehem pulled even with Guilderland in the Suburban Council North Division girls soccer standings Thursday with a 1-0 victory over Shaker.
Tara Teal scored 30 seconds into the game, and goaltender Katie Nickles made 16 saves for the Lady Eagles (7-3-1).
Goalie Gabby Cotugno stopped five shots for Shaker (6-5-0).
As Bethlehem was beating Shaker, Guilderland (7-3-1) suffered a 3-1 loss to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.
Meghan Malone scored all three goals for the Lady Spartans (8-3-0), and goalie Florie Comley stopped five of the six shots she faced. Morgan Burchhardt assisted on all of Malone’s goals.
Laurie Knapp had a first-half goal for Guilderland.
Three players scored goals for Niskayuna (11-0-0) in its 3-0 victory over Mohonasen Thursday. Maddie Karafanda and Kelly Hartlage tallied in the first half, and Meghan Doyle added an insurance goal in the final two minutes.
Goaltender Saeeda Abdul-Aziz made 10 saves for Mohonasen (4-6-1).
Boys soccer
Bethlehem needed overtime to defeat Shaker 2-1 in Thursday’s Suburban Council boys soccer game.
An own goal by Shaker gave Bethlehem (9-0-2) a 1-0 halftime lead. Joe Klinowski tied the game in the second half for the Blue Bison (5-5-1) before Zach Stryker tallied in overtime for the Eagles.
Elsewhere, Cololnie (3-4-2) came closer to the .500 mark by edging Ballston Spa 2-1. Uyiosa Omorogbe tied the score at 1 for the Garnet Raiders, and Luke Fowler struck the game winner in the second half.
Bryce Recer tallied for the Scotties (3-6-2).
Shenendehowa (8-1-2) needed a second-half goal by Ricky Grable to get past Averill Park 1-0. Goaltenders Dan Juers and Justin Rohrwasser combined for two saves.
Averill Park’s record dropped to 3-6-0.
Niskayuna (7-2-1) scored three times in the second half to pull away for a 4-0 victory over Mohonasen. Brendan Griffiths put home a penalty kick, while Joe Repicky and James Kennedy added goals during the decisive second half.
Christian Koudal scored in the first half to get Niskayuna on the board.
Goaltenders Alec Volans and Pat Anunziata combined to make 11 saves for Mohonasen (2-6-0).
