The Niskayuna girls soccer team improved its record to 10-0-0 with Tuesday’s 3-1 Suburban Council victory over Bethlehem.
Meghan Doyle scored the go-ahead goal in the second half for the Silver Warriors two minutes after Tara Teal tied the score for the Lady Eagles (6-3-1). Anka Parzych added an insurance goal with less than eight minute left.
Parzych finished with a pair of goals, and goaltender Kristen Hartlage made four saves for Niskayuna.
Goalie Katie Nickles stopped 12 shots for Bethlehem.
Guilderland took advantage of Bethlehem’s loss and moved into sole possession of first place in the South Division with Tuesday’s 1-0 victory over Saratoga Springs. Rebecca Golderman scored off a pass from Jess Capone for the Lady Dutch (7-2-1).
Shenendehowa (7-2-1) breezed past Columbia 4-0 in Clifton Park. Sophia DiNinni scored a goal in each half for the Plainswomen, while Kelsie Moinzadeh and Makala Foley contributed goals.
Boys soccer
Shen needed an overtime goal from Nick Martin to defeat Columbia 1-0 in Tuesday’s Suburban Council boys soccer game.
Goaltender Danny Juers made two saves to earn the shutout for the Plainsmen (7-1-2), while Evan Forbes stopped seven shots for Columbia.
Shaker rallied from a one-goal deficit to defeat Colonie 3-1 Tuesday night in Latham. Joey Klinowski tallied twice in a five-minute span of the second half to put the Blue Bison (5-4-1) in the lead.
Guus Reefman added an insurance goal in the final two minutes for Shaker, while Aaron Muia tallied for Colonie (2-6-2).
Ballston Spa edged Averill Park 1-0 on the road. Devin Hilson scored early in the first half, and the Scotties defense made it hold up.
Goaltender Patrick Touhey had 12 saves for Ballston Spa.
