The Niskayuna boys soccer team extended its winning streak to four games by defeating Columbia 3-1 in Friday’s Suburban Council game.
Joe Repicky scored one goal and assisted on the other two for the Silver Warriors (4-1-0), and goaltender Taylor Tear stopped a first-half penalty kick. Brendan Griffiths and Scott Fishel also tallied for Niskyuna.
In a Suburban Council girls soccer game Friday, Niskayuna shut out Columbia 2-0 to maintain its perfect record.
Anka Parzych scored twice in the first half, and goaltender Kristen Hartlage made two saves to pick up the shutout for Niskayuna (6-0-0).
Jessica Schafer stopped 15 shots for Columbia in the loss.
Field hockey
Bethlehem overcame a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat Shaker 4-2 in Friday’s Suburban Council field hockey game.
Molly Higgins tallied twice in the second half to lead the Lady Eagles’ comeback. Erin Landy had a goal and an assist, and Marina Skrabalak added the other Bethlehem goal.
Kelsey O’Neil and Jordan Sheehy scored for Shaker.
Girls volleyball
Guilderland kept its record perfect by defeating Colonie 3-1 in Friday’s Suburban Council girls volleyball match.
The two teams split the first two sets before the Lady Dutch (7-0) won the last two sets by scores of 25-18 and 25-13. Guilderland won the first set 25-21, and Colonie took the second set 25-22.
Allison VanDoren led the Lady Dutch with nine kills, eight digs and six service points. Quincy Kinzel contributed 15 service points — 11 coming on aces — and added 15 assists, seven digs and three kills. Kayla Myers chipped in with six kills and four blocks.
Stephanie Reinhardt had 10 kills and two aces for Colonie (3-4).
Boys volleyball
Shenendehowa set up a showdown with Bethlehem by beating Colonie 3-0 in Friday’s Suburban Council boys volleyball match.
Austin Jensen’s nine kills and seven service aces paced the Plainsmen (7-1), who meet first-place Bethlehem next Friday. Josh Olsen contributed six kills, and Tyler Ostrowski added 21 assists.
Shen won its three sets by scores of 25-8, 25-16 and 25-18.
Girls swimming
Albany Academy defeated Ravena-Coeymans-Selkirk 89.5-65.5 in Friday’s girls swimming meet in Albany.
Casey Young led the Indians with victories in the 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard breaststroke. Savannah Hotaling picked up an individual victory in the 100-yard backstroke.
