BETHLEHEM — The Brunswick 18U team scored five runs in the top of the fifth to beat the Bethlehem Blackout 16U team 10-9 on Friday, Aug. 21.
Bethlehem jumped out to a 7-1 lead after two but gave up four in the top half of the third. The team carried an 8-5 lead through four but found themselves down 10-8 after five.
Ella Traynor went 2 for 2 with and RBI and a run scored to lead Bethlehem while Emma Losee went 2 for 2 with two runs scored. Maggie Tromp and Megan Sparks each went 2 for 3 and Regina Poulin added a hit.
Alexa Pavone and Sparks teamed up on the mound for Bethlehem giving up 10 runs on 12 hits while striking out three and walking five.
Bethlehem scored 10 runs on a dozen hits while walking five times and striking out three times.
