Lady Dutch drop home opener; Fontenelle-Posson honored for scoring 1,000

GUILDERLAND — The Lady Dutch lost its home opener on Tuesday, Dec. 3 to Niskayuna 78-66.

Guilderland took a 37-34 lead into the half but Nisky poured it on in the second half outscoring the Lady Dutch 43-29.

The game featured two standouts in girls Suburban Council basketball, Valencia Fontenelle-Posson, who had 33 points for Guilderland, and Olivia Olsen, who scored 41 for Nisky.

Graycen Dubin had 11 for Guilderland while Grace McFerran had eight and Empress Lee added five.

Natalie Prian had had 14 for Nisky.

Prior to the game, Fontenelle-Posson was honored for hitting the 1,000-point mark last season.

Guilderland will travel to Ballston Spa on Friday, Dec. 6 and will host Troy on Tuesday, Dec. 10 and then Saratoga on Friday, Dec. 13.
