VOORHEESVILLE – The Blackbirds hung with undefeated Watervliet for the most of the first half, but the Cannoneers poured it on in the second and walked away with a 74-52 Colonial Council win.
The Cannoneers outscored Voorheesville 22-10 in the third and headed in the fourth quarter with a 20-point lead.
Watervliet (5-0) senior standout Joey Atkins led all scorers with 31 while Najee McQueen and Derrick Beason had 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Senior PJ Parker had 16 for Voorheesville (2-3) and Frank Tedesco added 11. Matt Wallace had nine for the Blackbirds while Joe Saia had 8 and Charlie Kafka chipped in four.
