SPOTTED: Guilderland beats Bethlehem in round one

GUILDERLAND – The Lady Dutch ended Bethlehem’s field hockey season by beating the Eagles 3-1 in the first round of the Section II, Class A tournament on Tuesday, Oct. 17.

Three different players scored for the No. 4 seed Guilderland: Caitlyn Mooney, Courtney Rafferty and Madison Macciarella.

Moeka Suzuki scored the lone goal for the No. 5 seed Bethlehem.

Each of the keepers, Frances McDonough for Bethlehem and Jazlyn Jimenez for Guilderland, had a save.

The Lady Dutch had 10 corners and took five shots while The Eagles had seven corners and took six shots.

Guilderland will travel to Clifton Park to play the No. 1 seed Shenendehowa on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
