SPOTTED: Shaker beats crosstown rival Colonie, 4-2

COLONIE – The Garnet Raiders were beating their cross town rivals 2-1 through the first half of the Senior Night game on Thursday, Oct. 12, but The Bison scored three unanswered in the second half to win 4-2.

Julia Roemer scored three goals for The Bison (9-4, 11-4) including the last two with under 15 minutes to play. Isa Provost chipped in a goal with just under five minutes into the second half to set the tone for Shaker.

For Colonie (3-9, 3-10) Madison Knowles and Ianah Mackey each scored a goal.

Fiona Gassett had six saves for Shaker while her counterpart for Colonie, Jennifer McCumber, had nine.

It was Shaker’s last scheduled Suburban Council game of the season while Colonie will play its last game at noon at Guilderland on Saturday, Oct. 14.
