SPOTTED: Bethlehem boys beat Colonie, 3-1

BETHLEHEM – The boys soccer team beat Colonie at home 3-1 on Tuesday, Sept. 5.

The Eagles (2,0,1) jumped out to a 3-0 lead early in the first half with Derin Gumustop scoring one unassisted and a second with an assist by Killian Ryan. Gumustop also had an assist on a goal scored by Gabe Kaprielian.

Ryan Lotz scored late in the first half for Colonie (0-3) on an assist by teammate Andrew Shaw.

Bethlehem took 18 shots with 12 shots on goal, while Colonie took seven shots and had five on goal.

Bethlehem keeper Ryan Henning had four saves. His counterpart, Nate Langlois, had nine.

Bethlehem plays at Guilderland on Thursday Sept. 7 while Colonie travels to Columbia.
