COLONIE — Colonie resident Jamie Lam qualified for the Amateur Athletic Union USA Taekwondo Team Trials, to be held Sept. 9-11.
Lam, 17, placed in the top four of her weight class at the recent AAU National Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to qualify for the national team trials. She will face competitors from Vermont, Texas and Puerto Rico in a round robin competition, with one athlete making the team.
Lam trains at Guilderland’s Pil Sung Taekwondo and competes in Olympic style sparring.
