ALBANY COUNTY — Colonie scored three times in the bottom of the fourth inning on its way to a 6-3 victory over Bethlehem in a Section 2 Class AA opening round baseball game Tuesday, May 17.
AJ Mazzone launched a two-run double in the fourth inning for the Garnet Raiders. Tommy Kretzler contributed a pair of singles in support of pitcher Ryan Lambert, who worked his way out of several jams to pick up the complete-game win.
Steve Mendleson and Brian Harder each had a pair of hits for Bethlehem.
In another first round game, Jarrett Fortin pitched a no-hitter to lift Columbia to a 4-1 victory over Shaker in East Greenbush.
Will Hebert drove in all four Columbia runs with a double and a single. Brendan MacPhee had an RBI for Shaker.
