ALBANY COUNTY — The Bethlehem boys lacrosse team scored the first five goals of the game and cruised to a 15-5 Suburban Council victory over Columbia Tuesday, May 17.
Zach Nunez led the onslaught with a six-goal afternoon. Ryan Starr recorded a hat trick and an assist, while Ethan Sheraw contributed two goals and three assists. Devon Halliday added a goal and five assists.
Matt Morris tallied twice for Columbia.
In other Suburban Council action, Guilderland outlasted Christian Brothers Academy 10-9, while Shaker eased past Ballston Spa 13-6.
Kevin Dyer and Tyler Hess each had hat tricks for Guilderland in its one-goal win against CBA. Ryan Fish chipped in with two goals and two assists, and goaltender Sam DiPace made 15 saves.
Luke Anthony struck for three goals and an assist for CBA. Chris Willox tallied twice, and goaltender Darrian Poole made 10 saves.
Shaker used a 4-0 run in the second quarter to break open a close game against Ballston Spa.
Jared Hoff tallied four times, and Michael Stiso added three goals and three assists for the Blue Bison. Goaltender Andrew Leahey had 15 saves. Zac Schuette and Hans Zimmer each scored twice, and Damian Randall stopped 14 shots for the Scotties.
