To the Editor,
Bethlehem Library expansion proposal of $36 million to renovate property they already own is an extravagant waste of taxpayer money.
The amount proposed is the same cost that Queens NY spent on a brand new building overlooking the East River and spread cost among its 2 millions residents!
You wonder what water the board of trustees are drinking at their meetings. To put this in perspective, our town has a population of 35,000.
Perhaps the board should consult with the renowned architect, Brian Lee, who is known for redesigning libraries on a budget- including the famous Chinatown Branch of the Chicago library.
