Editor, The Spotlight;
I have been a resident of the Town of Bethlehem for over 50 years and I feel more comfortable about the present and future of the Town at this time than I have since I moved here. I have been registered in both major parties during my time here and am currently a registered Democrat. I am encouraged by the fiscal situation in the Town, the balanced budget and the recent credit upgrade. The Town employees that I have encountered are courteous, helpful and innovative. The initiative to upgrade the basic infrastructure is long overdue. As a member of the Pedestrian and Bicycle Committee, I am encouraged by the current and future projects on the books, and more importantly, that pedestrian and bicycle concerns have been institutionalized within the daily activities of the different departments of the Town government and are viewed as a priority by the current supervisor.
Getting to this stage has required much hard work over the years from many individuals. Thanks to all involved and particularly to the current administration and employees for making this Town such a great place.
