Editor, The Spotlight;
Back in June, I wrote the attached poem. With the current news, it seems that it could be considered appropriate.
Home for the Casino
The conversation should be over. It is so clear to see
As, to where the new area Casino really ought to be.
Rensselaer made an offer. It was all over in the news.
A most sensible plan it is, that no one should refuse.
The high rising hotel structure would certainly deliver
A great view with all of those that rise up across the river.
Another important factor that everyone should know,
The plot is shovel ready, yes, it’s ready to do and go.
Major highway access should help to earn the approval stamp,
With a direct connect to the Dunn Bridge and its gentle ramp.
A marina will be there, so that high rollers with their yachts,
Can sail on up the river to play the tables and the slots.
Tourists can come by rail, just a short walk from the station.
Our very own terminal is the tenth busiest in the nation.
Another, and the most important, of all these many clues,
I understand that Rensselaer is willing to share the revenues.
Let us pray that all the deciders will use their common senses.
And Rensselaer will cut the ribbon when the glorious job commences.
